The MMFS Community Fund
During this unprecedented time, we are leaning on one another more than ever. And in the best tradition of the Mary McDowell Friends School community, many are asking, “How can I help?”
This week we launch the MMFS Community Fund to meet the critical needs of our community. The MMFS Community Fund will provide
- new financial aid assistance;
- temporary crisis relief for MMFS families in need; and
- support for the MMFS operational budget shortfall.
The new fund will allow us to assist MMFS families, faculty and staff, and alumni in need of immediate assistance, whether in the form of a modest, one-time grant or in the form of new or additional financial aid. The fund will also supplement the MMFS operational budget, which has been affected by the cancellation of programs and events as well as the wide-ranging impact of the COVID-19 crisis. Funds will be allocated to the three pillars as follows: 50% toward financial aid, 25% toward temporary crisis aid, and 25% toward the MMFS operating budget shortfall.
Our goal is to raise $150,000 for the MMFS Community Fund during May and June.
