The first few days of school are some of the most magical of the year, filled with happy reunions, brave first steps, and the excitement that comes with new beginnings. After days of preparation all three buildings opened their doors to students on Wednesday for orientation and advisories. This is a time for students to meet their teachers, get to know their classmates, review their schedule, and – in the case of the upper school – set goals for the year.
Thursday marked the first official day of school. Head of School André Del Valle greeted students upon their arrival, decked out in his finest MMFS green. The halls were abuzz with excitement and energy, and the students were genuinely happy to be back in school. In the words of a 7th grader, whose birthday fell on the first day, going back to school was “the best birthday present I could have.”
