MMFS Students Recognized by Scholastic Art and Writing Awards

February 28, 2017

We’re thrilled to announce that six MMFS upper school students have been recognized by the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards for their exceptional artistic and literary talent. The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative teens in grades 7–12.

The student’s submissions were judged at the regional level by some of the foremost leaders in the visual and literary arts. Panelists looked for works that best exemplify originality, technical skill, and the emergence of a personal voice or vision. MMFS students won a total of 13 awards, four of which received a Gold Key, the award’s highest honor. Gold Key works will next enter a national competition, judged by creative-industry experts. National Medalists will be announced on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 and honored at a ceremony at Carnegie Hall.
