It’s been three years since the middle school was able to put on an evening Music Night, but you’d never have known it. Even though this was the first time that most of the middle schoolers had done anything remotely like this, the performance was a smash hit. The program ranged from As It Was by Harry Styles to High Hopes by Panic! At the Disco. (You can see the full program here.) Of course, it wouldn’t be live performance without a little excitement. So when the microphone cut out in the middle of Three Little Birds by Bob Marley, the audience came to the rescue and finished the last chorus with the band, reminding the students, “Don’t worry about a thing, ‘Cause every little thing is gonna be alright.” Tears were shed!
Congratulations to the directors and music teachers (John Grimsley and Catherine Leto-Carboy, with help from Amy St. Louis and Johnny Young) and the performers from Woolman House, Hicks House, Paul House, Jones House, Douglass House, Madlala House, Lister House, Rustin House, Seok-heon House, and the Breakfast Club (a group of kids who meet in the mornings for fun). Students from the other houses will perform in the spring.
Enjoy these photos from an incredible evening.
