We are excited to invite you to the upper school musical, Annie, directed by upper school theater teacher, Sharon Counts, on May 20th and 21st at 7pm at 23 Sidney Place.
Annie has taken many forms throughout the years, including the cartoon strip Little Orphan Annie making its debut in 1924, the many radio and movie spin-offs, and finally the original Broadway show and its multiple revivals. This is truly a story that transcends time. At the most basic level, it is a story of a little girl, who never gives up hope. Martin Charnin, director and lyricist of the original Broadway production once said that “her spirit and her optimism are organic to the American spirit, and that is what this show is all about.”
We hope that you will all join us. Please RSVP with your name and the number of guests to Maggie at maggieu@mmfsnyc.org by May 18th.
We look forward to seeing you there!
